You are probably wondering…

So I bet a few of you are wondering “Natalie we love the new pictures from the workshop but how was your trip?!” I left out all the juicy details on the previous posts, and yes I still need to blog day three. But I thought today I would post a juicy details only post!

The best thing about Texas… the clouds! They have clouds like no other! The only time we would ever see anything that resembeled these in SoCal would be air polution, or smoke from a fire. The worse thing about Texas… the humidity! Yuck! But I’ll let that slide and we will focus on the positive. When we were about to land this was what was out my window, yummy clouds!

Oh and please forgive the poor quality images. They were all with my point and shoot :) I did not have the opportunity to take too many personal photos so the next few wil have to surfice.

Everyday while we were in Texas we had a totally different dinning experience. We even had teppan one night, my fav! On the second day we went to a little BBQ joint, which was super delish! This is a picture of us on the way.

Akil, Jonilyn, and Me

As you can see we are all smiling in this picture. These smiles quickly deminished as somoneone who will not be named pulled infront of a semi. The car following us thought we got creamed. ;) But we arrived safe and sound. Here are some from the resturaunt.

Yum!

Some of the girlies! Im sorry I didn’t get a shot of everyone :(

On the way home Jonilyn and I had an adventure of our own. Because of tornados and lightning and thunder our flight got delayed. Then we caught a new flight but had to run to the other side of the airport to catch it. We made it in time only because that flight was also delayed. We finally got on the plane thinking we were going to get to go home, but actually sat on the runway for at least three and a half hours. No bueno! But we were lucky enough to be allowed to sneak off the plane to grab some Taco Bell. Needless to say not too many people were happy with us after they smelled the food. Here is a picture of us waiting for them to decide if we are going to be able to board or not.

All in all this was one of the biggest most amazing experiences I have had in a very long long time! If Michael Norwood, Amy Coffey, or Fred Egan offer another workshop I would highly recommend you get on the list and quick!

My Pleasure

Yesterday I had the pleasure of shooting portraits of Mike and Kristin! They were over-the-top fun, as you can see in the photos. Kevin came out and shot for a while with me and he got some great shots too! On with the photos!

We started out walking around Huntington Beach Mainstreet and eventually headed down to the sand for some football. Both are big USC fans so of course we had to incorporate that!

We decided to get out of the 102 degree heat and headed over to the park to play a little croquet! While Mike was setting up, I snapped a few of Kristin. She has an amazing sense of style and awesome shoes!

Mike had a Happy Gilmore moment ;)

Like I said everyone has to ride the slide!

Workshop Day 2!

The second day of the workshop we had the opportunity to shoot even more amazing models. There were so many helpful people and everyone was willing to help me. There really couldn’t have been a better group! I got lots of pictures so I’ll cut the wordiness down to a minimum ;)

I started with another senior, she was seriously the sweetest girl ever, and had a killer look!

Next we got to work an engagement shoot

And to ice the cake we finished up with a super cute bride and groom :)

Workshop Day 1

I learned so much this past week at the Lab Workshop, and met so many amazing people. The first day we shot kids and seniors (students not elders lol). Fred was working it and showing us different ways to interact with clients to get the most out of our pictures. After talking with Travis, I have noticed that my pictures are not the same quality once i post them. I’ll be working on that this week.

The kids were so cute, I love how Makenzie is holding tight to daddy.

The seniors were naturally amazing models, and sooo easy to work with :)

One of my favorites from the day

Cant be serious all the time! I’m still amazed she could get that much air!

Check out photography coverage by Michael Norwood, Akil BennettMike Carpenter, and Bonnie Berry.

More pictures from Day 2 and 3 to come!
